He Must Have Been an Angel
Submitted by Neil

On March 29, 2009 I was taking a leisurely ride on my Harley Davidson, a ride of a route I had taken dozens of times before. It was a beautiful Sunday in the late afternoon and I am grateful for a new ordinance in the City requiring helmets be worn while traveling through it. I sat at an intersection waiting for the light to turn green and, when it did, proceeded across the intersection and was struck broadside at over 60 mph by a vehicle who ran the red light and amputated my leg above the knee immediately. I do not remember the impact and laid in a coma for 12 days awakening in the intensive care ward of a hospital I was flown to. My encounter is a result of the people I spoke with after the fact.

I have spoken to all of the people, except one, who touched me physically at the accident. There was a man who was the first to touch me and credited with saving my life. All we know about him is that he was quiet, wearing a t-shirt, jeans and sandals. He removed my belt to use as a tourniquet and was standing on my leg to stop me from bleeding until medical attention could arrive. I subsequently lost over 60 percent of my blood and all medical personnel at the scene did not expect me to live. Though there were other miraculous happenings at the accident, police, EMT's and firemen turned to speak with this man after I was loaded onto the helicopter and he had just vanished. It is our speculation that this man was indeed an angel.

I have made a miraculous recovery and getting around pretty good on my prosthetic. I am comforted however, that God was with me, is with me and He sent His Angel to make sure I lived to continue His work.
